A fun small painting.  I have been trying out these lighter backgrounds and like the way the shadows add to the composition of the painting.  Trying not to have too much negative space.

Another flower painting.  This one from a photo taken by my Mom.  So pretty!  I used transparent oils for the background to give the illusion of foliage and a brick wall.  You see that, right?

Daisy Light

Daisies are always fun to paint.  It is hard to imagine that November has arrived!  I am off to another workshop tomorrow.  I'm ready to study with Connie Winters.  I've got my paint, panels and brushes all set.  Corse Gallery and Atelier in Jacksonville is a  great place to study!  Maybe I will see you there!

workshop painting - NFS

On workshop day 3 we painted from our own photo reference.  Colorful bicycles were in every small hilltown that we visited in Tuscany.  I could not resist taking pictures of them.  My bike at home is lavender, so you know I love that...but I do not have a bell or a basket filled with flowers.  I am going to have to work on that.  Thanks, Dreama, and Corse Gallery and Atelier for a great workshop!
