Fun to paint with friends. This time I used an analogous color scheme....colors that are "nearly the same or similar". Blue-green, green, yellow-green, and yellow.
Another paint along. This one really demonstrated how shadows follow the shape of the surface they fall on....This cherry stem shadow really gave the pear a super roundness!
My last try in Katie Dodson Cundiff's plein air workshop. These palms were peeking out over the treetops in the distance. Lots of cool dead fronds hanging under the green tops...I must admit that I fiddled with them after I got back to the studio...A second look out of the sun makes a difference!
This painting is one that I started outside. I thought it was too dark once I brought it inside. (Values sure look different outside.) So I played with it a little in the studio. How many shades of green are there anyway???
This is a new painting of one that I painted previously. So you could call this an instant replay (that is not too "instant"). This time I painted it as a "paint along" demo for a friend who has started painting with me. We are having lots of fun and it is interesting for me to compare this version with my first...
watering can and plant sticks to be auctioned at CACF Spring Fling
This is a sneak peek at the centerpiece I painted and put together for my table at the Creative Artists of Central Florida's Spring Fling. A garden party for sure with butterfly plant sticks, watering can and butterfly food (marigolds). Thanks to Kelly Hoernig for the beautiful butterfly designs! Now it is time to get back to my easel.
This is a plein air painting that I did in a workshop with Katie Dodson Cundiff. It was a great 3 days in Bradenton with beautiful weather, a fabulous teacher, and a great group of classmates. Fabulous fun!
