More Treasure

Another shell...summer is SO great! A friend let me borrow this shell to paint.......It was pretty to look at and the shadow was interesting....but the best part was the warm glow that the light made on the bottom of the shell as the light passed through it......I almost missed it....but I am so glad that I saw it before I was finished. Pass-through light....beautiful!

"Shadow"

Today's painting is part 3 of "painting with my friends". In this painting I love the way the stem shadow defines the shape of the pear it is resting on! What a cool way to emphasize form!

"Reflection"

I found this chubby pear hiding in the bin at Publix Supermarket.....leaf and all! I hand carried it through the check out, to the parking lot and into the car.....When I got home, I took a picture of it, since I wasn't sure when I would get the chance to paint it.....This is part 2 of painting with my friends, our project for this week. We all had a great time last week, and everyone took home a nice painting! An exciting adventure has begun!

"One"

This is the second time that I have painted this pear. This time I painted from a photo instead of from an actual set-up. I also have the original painting to work from.... I am getting ready to paint this project with a group of my friends.......It will be a fun afternoon!

"Short and Stout"

Here is my latest small painting......I found this little teapot in Jacksonville while attending a workshop. This one actually has been set up in my studio for about 3 weeks. It is really nice to paint something that will not wilt or die before I take a chance to paint it! I am going to remember that!!!!!

"Orange and Blue"

Here is a painting for my family and friends who are SO happy with orange and blue! You know who you are! Congratulations on a great season! I realize that the blue flowers are all in a row! Bummer.... I wish I had seen THAT before I started painting.....One more thing to work on.
