I love to enter into a room and be welcomed by a bouquet of flowers.  A pitcher of flowers like this one greeted me at Le Vieux Couvent, the location of my summer painting holiday.  Did I mention it was in France?  Beautiful location, lovely hosts, fabulous food, colorful gardens and lots to learn.  Thank-you Dreama Tolle Perry.

I love the way these flowers burst open into blossoms that look like purple fireworks.  Every spring, my yard explodes with hundreds of these blooms.  I know that I am not quite in the fall theme of the season, but I kept hearing the word "purple", and I had to listen.  Is there purple in the fall landscape?  Not in my yard anyway.  This is Florida after all...it still sort of feels like summer!

Wallflower is a painting that was inspired while on my summer travels.  France has many beautiful old walls holding pots overflowing with flowers...and geraniums seem to be quite popular.

Summer has been a busy, traveling,  and exciting time of painting for me.  I am back for a moment now and will try to catch up with posts...I will have to back up to Paris, France, June 2, 2013 and start remembering.  So many fun memories....Stay tuned.  I promise to get you updated.  In the meantime, this painting is my attempt to paint larger.  Enjoy!

This is a new twist on a painting that I have done before.  Using a palette knife really changes the look of it and I love the texture!

Another look at pears.  This time painted with a palette knife. I am having a lot of fun with this "loose" technique.  I also like when the grocery store pears come with leaves attached.  I just wish they could still be green!  Where is a pear tree when you need one?
